We are so excited, we can hardly contain ourselves – and for Two Big Reasons!

Firstly, you’re invited to help us celebrate one of the most remarkable actresses in Classic Hollywood: the fabulous Miriam Hopkins. The blogathon will run January 22-25, 2015, and we’d love to have you join us.

Secondly, we’re excited to be co-hosting this event with our über-chic friend Maedez of A Small Press Life. But that ain’t the half of it! This blogathon with correspond with the launch of her new movie blog, Font and Frock, in January, 2015.

    She was in a bizarre episode of The Outer Limits called Don’t Open Til Doomsday. I swear that Davis & Crawford got their Grande Dame Guignol look from Miriam!!!!

        Well I suppose it does sort of lend my kind of wily ways to the celebration! She was great as Aunt Lily Mortar in The Children’s Hour… but I’m sure someone’s gonna snatch that up before I finish answering this

        and then there’s Savage Intruder a rare 70’s grande dame guignol psycho-flick…

        But her character in Don’t Open Til Doomsday is just grotesque and offbeat enough to temp me to chime in!!!

    So cool to see a blogathon in Hopkins’s honor! She’s pretty underrated, all things considered, and just the right gal to pep up January. I recently saw Hopkins in “The Story of Temple Drake” and her performance just floored me! I’d love to write about that please.

    Haha–of course, I JUST wrote a blog post about The Heiress, which would have been my first choice.

    Instead, I’ll claim Virginia City. I love Westerns and have never seen this one. I can’t believe it. Miriam, Errol Flynn and Randolph Scott! Directed by Michael Curtiz! How did this fly under my radar?
