Much the best parts to play. Don’t think I ever played a villainess, unless you count the Red Queen in a musical version of Alice Through the Looking Glass – satisfying!
Hey Ruth, is it too late to join the ‘Great Villain Blogathon of 2017’!! I didn’t commit last month, as I wasn’t sure I’d be able to contribute, when the time comes. BUT, I kept it in mind. And late last night, I watched Nocturnal Animals, and thought of interesting post, about the villain of the piece.
I’ve just returned to blogging after a taking a hiatus due to my aunt’s death. I will definitely sign up for this again, as this is one of my favorite blogathons. I just have to decide on a topic. I’m mulling over a few choices.
With my return, I’ve announced another blogathon, and you are cordially invited to participate. The link is below with more details.
Hey there. Please count me in to your big kahuna of a blogathon. I’m going to bring Constance Ford to the party. Her role as a sexually repressed Mom in “A Summer Place” is villainy in its highest form. Well…if not in its highest form, in its most lush, colorful, most romantic over~the~top form. My blog is CineMaven’s Essays from the Couch: https://cinemavensessaysfromthecouch.wordpress.com/
FABULOUS choice! I see you’ve already been added to the list. I never would have thought of Constance Ford, but she’s a terrific villain. So glad you’re coming to the party!
Hi Ruth. Would I be able to change my entry? I also want to do two entries, as I really need to get my blog active again. I haven’t quite decided on what villains to do yet, but I’ll let you know asap.
I’m thinking of doing Barbara Stanwyck playing a villain for my first topic. I have a few Stanwyck villains in mind. I have written about Martha Ivers before. Can you think of any other Stanwyck villains besides from Phyllis Dietrichson?
I probably would, but unfortunately my dvd of that is quite scratchy. I need a new one. I’ve done a search of Stanywck villains but nothing really comes up.
I will have to get my thinking caps working, as I can’t really think of anything at the moment. Can you think of any other villains that haven’t yet been covered?
For my first entry I think I will stick with my original choice that is already on the roster. I will decide on a topic for my second entry over night.
Hi Ruth. I’ve came up with a topic for my second entry. I would like to write about Robin Williams in “One Hour Photo”. Let me know if that is suitable for the blogathon?
Yes, you know I am in!

So you sing and dance, in addition to acting and making glorious pieces of art?

Not any longer and it was the only musical I ever did and required very restrained dancing! Yes, I’m an actress by profession.
